Everything I've ever read/heard says to not try anything drastically different just before a race. What distance of a race are you doing? I try to really focus on drinking plenty of water in the days before a race, and day before having several smaller meals throughout the day - not a huge feast! I couldn't live w/o carbs and maybe it's psychological, but a nice pasta meal with some protein & veggies is one of my favorite night-before meals. Also I love a big bowl of oatmeal morning of the race, and a banana shortly before! Of course, this is what works for me, I am sure everyone will have different suggestions. Good luck and most important - have fun!
