Related question. I just bought a used but beautiful custom built frame. All decals are in great condition except the "Reynold 531" decal which has ragged, curling edges. If I replace this one, rather "generic' decal will it be viewed as a violation?
Better to keep original decals if you can - tubing decals in particular do tend to deterioriate. Not a major deal, but if it's not completely shot, keep it.
Paint touch-ups are fine, if skillfully done. Doesn't undo the collectibility and value of original paint.
