Excuse me? Are you actually saying that nobody here rides expensive road bikes regularly?

I happen to have two very nice road bikes and they are the only bikes I ride...and commute on. I couldn't replace either one for under $3k either. I ride about 2500-3000 miles each year on these bikes and neither of them have platform pedals.

Oh, and I ride every weekend up and down the coast here in San Diego and most of the cyclists I see riding, and I see hundreds of them, are riding road bikes with clipless pedals.

If you don't want clipless pedals fine, but don't preach to me about some ridiculous notion that platform pedals are superior because I'm not buying it. Next you'll be trying to sell me a kickstand...or a horse.
