What? What does California and South Carolina have to do with this? Fire?
Oh, ****, you mean the same sorta thing that happens EVERY YEAR in So. Cal but this year happened to make big news because it happened all at once? Oh, mercy me. Yes, it's a tragedy. Yes, people lost homes, some lost lives - but again, IT HAPPENS EVERY YEAR. What's more, IT HAPPENS EVERYWHERE AROUND THE WORLD ALL THE TIME. Some people need to look at a much larger perspective of their place in life, particularly with the notion of scale. I know Americans tend to be obese and excessively large compared to the rest of the world, but that does not usurp the need to be aware of the relatively small scale of our 'tragedies' on both a global and historical perspective.
