Notice how I said "motorways"? Call me a car-murderer-maniac-psychopath all you want, but your bicycle doesn't belong on the motorway. In fact, on many of them, you'll see signs prohibiting bicycles, among other things.

And I was essentially trying to explain slow =/= safe on that kind of road, because you seem to think it is. I drive at least 70miles a day on freeways, and some of the most dangerous incidents occur because someone is going too slowly. Like merging at 35mph... that's really smart, and I've actually seen accidents occur because of it.
