Bikes: Real Steel. Really. Ti is cool, too !

Not insensitive - just brutally honest. We do look weird. But the shirts and shorts we wear are functional; wicking away moisture/kepping you dry/protecting your sensitive parts.

Me - most days I wear sneakers and a t-shirt along with my padded shorts. I only break out the bike jersey if I need the pockets in the back for food, or it's really hot and muggy and need something that breathes better than cotton.

Grant's just trying to tell us all that we've gone too far with the need and craving for plastic carbon bikes and the latest gadgets - like when I used platform pedals as a kid and never had to worry about cadence or pedaling technique - I just rode. Or did my first century with platforms. We're missing just riding for the sheer fun of it, and ya can have a lot of fun without the latest and greatest widget.

Sometimes when we look in the mirror - we do look weird

Perhaps you should re-evaluate that statement, and consider how incredibly insensitive you sound.

Good night.
