Basically, Cyclocross is on-road and off-road cycling with a specially modified road bike. Although the terrain is not (supposedly) as arduous as mountain biking, there are times when the rider must dismount and carry his/her bike over an obstacle, i.e., a fallen log, raging stream, etc. Check out
