Why wouldn't I?

Most people encase the entire bike in a giant hard suitcase. However, that seems rather silly to me when really the only part that isn't at least as bash-proof as the suitcase itself is the chainring.

I mean, what would you rather attach to your bike? The biggest, heaviest suitcase you can get your hands on or the toughest bashguard you can get your hands on?
