Bikes: Some bikes. Hell, they're all the same, ain't they?

Well, I know, but they weren't even in the crosswalk yet -- they were waiting patiently for traffic to pass. They didn't have a signal or anything.

The way I see it -- and the way I walk across intersections -- it would've been smoother & faster for the Accord driver to just keep moving, which would have forced the peds to wait for maybe two or three whole seconds. Instead, the driver decided to stop, hold up traffic without a stop sign or pedestrian crossing light, and get rear-ended by an inattentive driver (which is something that always worries me when I'm driving).

On "both sides of the wheel", drivers and pedestrians are just ridiculously stupid around here. I've seen drivers try to wave me across when I'm not even making a move towards the street, almost getting themselves rear-ended in the process. I've also seen pedestrians walk against the light in front of 40-mph traffic.

Drivers are supposed to yield to pedestrians in the crosswalk... but how are they supposed to yield to pedestrians that are still several feet away from the street, on the sidewalk?
