If I were a burglar, I'd pay special attention to such a posted location; and wait for the right time to steal some especially worthwhile booty; or if not patient enough to assure that the resident had left, be prepared to shoot first.
You could be right. It does make you wonder if something valuable is being protected. If I'm not home they say "look in here".
When I see them I think they may be fake, and the only thing they have is the stickers.
I would not challenge someone with a gun. But a stranger might not know that. They could assume I would and shoot me. Or just leave the garage alone. Who knows?
I'm not going to risk my life for a bicycle or any other material thing. NO way. I have two kids, they only have one parent. I can get another bicycle, a better one.
I'm not going to risk Baileys life for a bugulary either, but how does a stranger know for sure? He could do some damage if you are not armed. I would like strangers to think that I would. But he can't get up onto something like a fence or a car. All you have to do is get up high enough.
Edit: All you have to do is bend down and pat him.
