Thanks for all the tips!

The starnut was actually installed and I realized once I stacked everything up that I don't need to cut the steerer tube... in fact, I couldn't if I wanted to!

So, I think I need to press the bearing cap another mm and I'll be in business.

Here she is, all hand tightened so no where near ridable but you get the idea... and of course, missing the proper front wheel... *cough* keith *cough*
