I was trying to figure out why I hadn't answered this thread when it first came out, and then I saw the date ... I was on my way to Europe for another tour with my panniers then.
My Axiom Lasalles have something over 7000 kms on them, over more than 5 months, which were spread out over 3 big tours (2 to Europe (approx. 1 month each), 1 to Australia (3 months)), and some shorter tours.
Despite the fact that they have been ...
-- banged around on planes, trains, busses, and cars
-- attached to my bicycle in all sorts of weather
-- dragged through the dirt in the process of setting up camp
-- and generally extremely well used ...
They are in great condition!! They practically look new!!
If I were to buy another set of panniers, it would be the new Axiom Lasalles with no question at all. But I don't need new panniers because my current Axiom Lasalles are nowhere near the end of their lives.
EDIT ... I see I did answer this question ... well, I've added another 1000 kms or so since then, and I'm still happy with the Lasalles.
But I'll add this ... I paid $100 for the set of them, so that's only about $20 per month on tour .... not bad!
