Not to worry. My $10 xenon strobe runs on anything from 6 to over 15 volts. They just blink faster at higher voltages. At the prices charged for most blinkies I'd risk sticking a 3 volt lithium battery in one to see how fast it goes. For all blinkies using the same voltage consider wiring them in parallel and using a D-cell or larger.
