arkel xm's, 10,000km on them and they seem as sturdy as new. I too was loured by ortliebs silicone applied cordura, but there complete absences of design (they are simply big sacks), and as well, there products being made in china, made the canadian designed (well designed) and produced arkels an easy choice. arkel also sells old man mountain racks which are again imo far better than Tubus, their competition.
