Well, I can't speak for all attendees, but I can tell you that none of the organizers of this event in Portland own a motor vehicle. Also, this is the first time this conference has even been held in North America. I don't think Hummers are very common in the countries where the average conference attendee comes from.
I'm not trying to say that all organizers or attendees need to be purists. Actually, I see no reason why a good idea should be rejected... regardless as to who originated the idea.... even if the originator did drive a Hummer.
What I am trying to say is that there is a good body of information in this subforum. I know it's been helpful for me in reducing both my use of automobiles and in leading a more balanced, sustainable lifestyle.
But how would these ideas here be expressed in a 4-day conference?
