I bought a bike recently on eBay from a seller whose auction stipulated "local pickup only." This no doubt resulted in a smaller bidder pool, which lowered the price and made it a better deal for me. During the auction, I sent a question to the seller, asking her if she might find a local bike shop that would pack and ship the bike at my expense. This worked out well, except that she did need to schlep the bike to the bikeshop. The packing/shipping cost was reasonable: $20 to pack, and $30 for FedEx ground -- KC to NYC. The bike shop was smart, and did not accept payment from me, only from the seller, so that they would not be caught in the middle if there were claims of damage (there was some minor paint damage, but I didn't make an issue of it).
I don't know from Schwinns; it looks like it's in good condition, but it's probably not a highly sought-after vintage bike that will sell for a lot. You might do better on CraigsList, with just local pickup.
