For what it's worth - if your total light output is on par with my Cateye 530, you might not be visible on dark+heavy rain. I only say because I've discovered mine is nowhere near enough light in those conditions, and I've ordered a Dinotte for the searing of drivers' retinas.

Also, a fluorescent vest is still only good when light hits it. Gives good vis from back and front, but not so much from cars exiting driveways. That plus a variety of other reasons has me checking driveways and sidestreets a lot more than the traffic in front/back, now that it's dark.

Sorry about the commute, sounds like a real b*tch all the way around.
