It's interesting how we are all drawn to certain colors and color will even help us choose a bike.

Last year (2006) I bought myself a new full suspension mountain bike - A Specialized Stumpjumper FSR. The color was a brilliant bright red. Not a color I would normally select but the bike was a deal and the color was pretty. Not 2 weeks into owning the bike, I broke my arm on a descent. I had another bad crash and ripped open my leg and later got cancer (not bike related but now I blame everything on that bike). It came to be known as the "blood bike". Just before the year ended, I sold the "bike of death" with it's ugly blood color and bought a indigo blue Santa Cruz Superlight. It matches my other bikes which are all blue, silver, black or a combo of each. I am just so much happier and for some strange reason, healthier. No more blood colored bikes for me!
