From: 6 miles inland from the coast of Sussex, in the South East of England

Bikes: Dale MT2000. Bianchi FS920 Kona Explosif. Giant TCR C. Boreas Ignis. Pinarello Fp Uno.

First road bike and I would suggest getting a known bike as the first one. Not a fan of Commercially available bikes but some are good. Evans is a great shop to compare all the different styles and makes- but look at Scott and Bianchi. Evans do a good range and price on Bianchi's but do make certain it is celeste .

Your first Bike should fit well, have gearing that is suitable so think of a triple or Compact Double crankset initially- seeing as how you have hills-and look at 105 as the starting point for the groupset.

Main thing is to get down and try the bikes for fit and then test ride. You may be lucky enough to get a discounted 07 bike in your size- but the biggest thing to remember is that your first bike will not be your last. All it does it inform you on what spec- type and weight your second bike will be.
