Am I being indecisive?

This is what I got to work with:

--relatively new bike with a new cheap back tire for trainer use.
--mountain bike with both knobby and slick tires.
--Kurt Kinetic trainer.
--several Spinergy DVD's.
--Kentuckiana weather which is modestly nasty, certainly not as bad as for you Michaguners.
--local trails which suffer from 'freeze-thaw' from December to April.

Which bike should I set up on the trainer? The road bike is geared higher (50x12) so I'd get a better workout. It'll also keep the poor thing from getting cold. I also hate changing tires.

But my mountain bike handles like a truck and I can't use it on the trails anyway.

Or I could just put slicks on it and suffer on the roads.

Or I could ride my road bike in the cold months and put the mountain bike on the trainer. But the mountain bike is geared much lower (44x12) so the work-out wouldn't be as good on the trainer.

But I dislike trainers and think that Coach Troy is the Anti-Christ.

Or I could go to spin classes, but they're either at 6AM or 7PM so I don't care for those times. And the spin classes are full of lycra-clad body Nazis.

What would you do?
