A guy from around these parts was riding a steel Waterford, using downtube shifters and a straight block/corn cob 7 speed cluster up until last year. He won 20+ races in the Pro/1/2 and M35+, often on the same day.
This year he was on modified Record brifters, still using 7 speed, and killed people just as often.
Just think how much quicker he could have been if only he had zipp 404s with the stickers removed, srm with hollowgram cranks, assos fugu jacket and rapha african hair sheep gloves.
What a waste of talent.
