LONG time ago in college - on separate occasions my seat and front wheel were stolen.

The wheel was a little funny. I was always locking just my frame to a bike rack. My group of friends and I come out of the dorm to head off to dinner - we all see my bike minus its front wheel. Everyone thinks that someone else in the group took it as a joke. Funny until I realized that no one actually had...

Lessons learned:

• replace seat QR with bolt on the commuter/campus bike
• lock front wheel to frame (and frame to something solid) - even for just a quick stop
