I used to be of the opinion that only steel was a good ride - till I actually put miles on frames built of other materials. My steel, CF, and aluminum bikes all have different ride characteristics, but I'd be hard pressed to say which one is "better". And if I could choose, it would most likely be because of differences in saddles, tires, or Shimano vs Campy.

And I still say it has nothing to do with vintage vs new.
