Just after I got on the 59th St. Bridge this morning in Queens this headwind brought me nearly to a stop. A Manhattan bound train slowly screeched past and this terrible whooshing sound made me look around wondering what the hell was about to fall on me. I thought my brakes were stuck. Even with a 32h spoked wheel I was swaying. That wind that slaps you in the face at the crest of the bridge is unreal. I normally coast down with brakes dabbing all the way - today i just let it ride no brakes and still barely broke 15 mph till the very bottom of the ramp!
