Just bought Mel Allwood's new tome "The complete bike book". He claims that Shimano chains should [B]never[B] be joined with Powerlinks or any other kind of split link rather they must be joined with a Shimano replacement pin....What do you think I have my Shimano joined by a SCRAM split link am I liable to suffer some terrible fate as a result?
