Bikes: Breezer Uptown 8, U frame

I'll be there, naturally. If anyone wants some specific lodging recommendations, please let me know. The convention center is right next to a light rail stop, so if you stay at a place near light rail, you're golden. In addition, it is a very short bike ride to the convention center from any part of the inner core of the city. You can bring a bike on the light rail with no time restrictions. (Please bring a good lock to Portland.) All buses have 2 bike racks on them. With the exception of the hotels near the airport, most lodging is in the inner city. Remember this about Portland: the closer you get to downtown, the safer everything becomes. Our dicey areas are further out...

Also, Oregon has no sales tax. There are lots of bike shops in the area, plus one that is the only North American Carradice dealer with a physical store west of the Rockies.

There is an excellent microbrew pub a couple of miles from the convention center. (Lucky Labrador) The food is good, and there are non-alcoholic alternatives that are really nice, like microbrew root beer. There is lots and lots of seating, and heated outside seating for smokers. Plenty of bike parking. It would be a fantastic place for a Bike Forums meet-up. Also, I believe Shift (bike funnists) have much in the way of neat activities up their sleeves for NAHBS. We're really happy to have this here.
