Well I guess the point was for it to be different. I was going for the minimalist look and feel of a track but with some gears since I just moved from Chicago to Michigan. I thought you guys would have better advice, and I was right, then the commuter forum. Even though I mostly commute on my fixed I still like how the bike feels like it wants to race. I would imagine I would get kind of bored with a big ugly commuter bike unless its the surly big dummy of course.
