Bikes: I've lost count.

Is it possible to lace a 32 hole hub to a 36 hole rim?

I am going to build a rear wheel with a Sram Dual Drive hub for my RANS Rocket to lower the gearing and have a different number of holes in my rim and hub. The hub has only 32 holes but the rim (a 20" Velocity Aeroheat AT) has 36 holes.

Is it possible to lace up a wheel with a 32 hub and 36 rim? If so is it the same process as lacing a matching hub and rim? My plan is to lace the wheel 3 cross.

I would prefer to use the the rim and hub I have as I would have to import a 20" 32 hole rim as none are available in NZ (the distributor only brings in 36 & 48 hole 20" rims).
