Check out the Winter cycling forum, and ICEBIKE.com. Trust me, you may not see a lot of cyclists out there in these months, but you are not alone.

Clothing is of course critical, and there is a massive amount of advice on these forums regarding that.
IMHO studded tires are the other thing that makes winter riding safe and possible and fun.
