Over here in the Netherlands a brake is a must have. Not because of the cars. It's because all the ****ing bikers! I live in a city with 200.000 inhabitants. About 40.000 are students. I think there are more than 100.000 bikes on the road every day. Heaven? Hell!

On my fixie i'm a lot faster compared to the 'normal people'. Somehow they always manage to get in my way. Stop in the middle of the street or bikepath, take a turn without signaling etc. You need a brake over here because I get a 'near miss' about three times a day.

Maybe if i have time this x-mas I will take some photo's to show the bike carnage over here.

But despite all the hatred, I'm happy there is such a bikeculture over here!
