I thought it would be cool to see what gear everyone typically rides in and if anyone has any cool solutions to the problems biking and the weather can bring up.
I'll start
Legs: Dickies (rolled up) + Underarmor (winter)
Chest: Roma Bikes cycling jersey + Thermal shirt (winter) + Dickies jacket + more layers as colder
Hands: Mechanix Wear Full Finger gloves / Knitted mittens (winter)
Feet: Old old specialized MTB cleats + long wool socks (winter)
Head: Some old old helmet plus a wool cycling cap with it gets cold
Bag: One of those kemmer backslide bags (large)
Basically I commute to work so I have to change, so I have gotten into the habit of wearing short sleeve button down shirts (super nerdy but I'm a skinny programmer so it just makes me look "heroin chic") so that I don't have to change my shirt. I am also able to get away with black dickies and just rolling them down at work. I am trying to find a better outer layer for my jacket then the dickies jacket. It is all black, and not tapered in the arms at all so it pulls up. It was dirt cheap though. I absolutely LOVE mechanix wear gloves for some reason. They were $10 have no padding and I initially got them for summer gloves on my motorcycle. I'll wear them all season even in the summer because I like the protection on my hands (typing is essential to my employment..).
The other day I was walking out of my cube without my bike but in my full bike gear but I had argyle socks on pulled up for warmth and my pants rolled up. Some old hat, upper management, whiskey and cigars kinda guy saw me and burst out laughing in my face. I'm glad I me and him can't relate ...
Anyone else feel like imparting some of their typical ride gear...?
