Why are you being difficult for the sake of being difficult? If you have a variety of questions about how a product is manufactured and what are the options of that product, why wouldn't you talk to the people that are doing the work? Literally everyone that has dealt with the Bike Friday people comment on how great the customer service is. Call them and ask. It isn't that tough of a concept.
I think this gets to the heart of the problem. Some folks just do not like talking to someone perceived as a sales person (ex-sales "consultant" talking here). They just want ALL the printed info you have, and they will call you if they are interested.
Bike Friday uses the "consultative" sales method - find out what your "application" and needs are and then design a custom solution - no different than what I did in the phone business. Some folks feel they are being sold something or will be obligated to buy if the solution does fit their needs - that's threatening to some.
E-mail has changes things in that it eliminates personal meetings and even telephone conversations, but as a salesman (and now customer) I like it. You can
establish a personal relationship first by phone of preferably personal visit, and then conduct the technical and financial side of things much more quickly and accurately with e-mails. I was able to work this way with Walter at Bike Friday and I liked that.
I also bought our last two cars and our Aframe camping trailer the same way.
Anyway, just a personal observation based upon experience on
BOTH sides of the sales desk.
