So the consensus of the group seemed to be "get out and ride," rather than whining and complaining about the lack of business the rest of the yeare.

So I did that.

Then, within the last 48 hours, two separate projects scheduled for early next year, each equivalent to about one month's work, were cancelled by the clients for budget and other reasons which are understandable if not delightful.

So I rode some more.

So why, at the tail end of a nice twenty miler, did I have to get a FLAT???

And why, since I now have a pump on the bike, did I forget to put the tire levers in the bag for some reason?

And why, since I had a cell phone with me, did its battery die, leaving me no option but to walk the bike a couple of miles back to my car?

And why did the OCP rodie who passed me fail to stop and lend a hand?
