I bought my Legnano at age thirteen and had to watch it like a hawk to prevent it from being stolen. That was in 1962! Go ahead and buy the bike and perhaps allow your daughter to ride it on supervised rides. But definitely not as a bike to just knock around on. One more thing; don't put a kickstand on it!
