yeah, red hook is kinda odd like that. it always feels a little creepy to me, too. there aren't a lot of trains and it is kinda isolated by road, but its not like its extremely far from anything. you can be in park slope in ten minutes from red hook. also, some of the loft apartments out there are amazing.
