Maybe the 'cruise control' feeling is what we all feel on the occasional day when we have a steady tailwind on our one-way commutes.
Sounds unlikely but it does happen! I once rode 93 miles basically in one direction, to the very tip of Long Island, thinking I was god on a bike, only to turn around and realize that I had been riding with a tailwind and now had to face a headwind for the same distance
