No, it's not typical ... especially not of campgrounds. It may be, however, typical of the local bar. If it is your habit to roll into town, to set up your tent, and to immediately hit the bar, you may encounter cougars (or the male equivalent) more frequently. But those people aren't usually interested in the outdoor life of a cyclist, and don't generally hang around a campground.
