Hey Roldan,
Welcome to Sactown. I've lived here for a long time (well, I moved here before the Kings did). I do most of my riding on the AR bike trail -- yeah, it can get repetitive but the lack of cars makes riding such a joy.
For extra miles I'll ride to Davis using the I-80 bike lane. From downtown Sac take Capitol Ave westbound over the Tower bridge thru West Sac. Near the far western end of W Capitol there's a bike lane puts you on the freeway bridge (concrete barrier and fencing separates cyclists from traffic; safe, but noisy) and over to Davis.
Or I'll take the bike trail to Beals Point near Folsom Dam and continue on up Folsom-Auburn Road. Can be busy but there's a bike lane.
Or I'll take the bike trail, cross the old wooden Rainbow bridge into Old Town Folsom, then take Natoma over to Green Valley Road up into Cameron Park. A little hilly, but a good workout.
These are all well-known cycling routes. Here's a great site with more ideas:

Ride safe.
