"Not so light" light wheels?
I'm looking to upgrade my 1900-gram Shimano WH550 wheelset . . . was looking for something in the 1500-1600 gram range (front and back). A guy at my LBS cautioned that some cheaper light wheels aren't really going to function any better than the ones I have because oftentimes they're only lighter because the hubs are lighter. But the rims - - where the rotational weight is - - aren't much if any lighter. This makes sense to me, but what would you consider as pretty light for rims - - I found some that are pretty light and within my price range that have 440 gram rims.
