hello everyone,i need some help pretty quick. i have been saving to get myself a new bike for quite some time now , but i have been in 2 minds whether to buy a mountain bike or a road bike. the bikes uses will mainly be for travelling to work and back, but obviously if i get a road bike i will just be limited to that-the road. or i have been playing with the idea of going to a nearby forest with my son and doing some proper biking of a weekend. anyway in the bike shop before i got offered this bike (marin mt vision FRS XC) for £1000 ( it is used and says its rrp is £2000) but its in immaculate condition never been taken off road,and you can clearly see that. my question is , is this marin bike worth the £1000? i have googled it but it comes up with nothing.only different models.does that mean its quite old? also what would you rather have and for what reason. mountain bike or lighweight road bike?? im very interested in your replies. i have put 2 pictures of the marin mountain bike on, and also the road bike which i am also considering....
