I used the Nashbar trekking bars for a couple of months on my Motobecane then switched back to the factory bar. I guess it's a personal thing. I like these better than my Crowbars. (For me, commuting for an hour or more, I tend to get a little numbness in my hands, and moving them helps, plus the standard upright position has my hands closer together than flat bars (more like on the flat part of drops) which is also more comfortable than my Crowbars.
As for the control issue mentioned earlier, these bars are the same length as my old flatbars, only I can put my hands in a "thumbs-forward" position if need be.
But, hey, it's just me. YMMV.
