I was told that too about my Campy stuff, but I don't know if works in practice. I had zero luck finding anyone willing to take them apart and work on them and further, once you factor in LBS labor vs. user-installation of online-bought new brifters, I'm not even sure it is cheaper.

IOW, promises of field-repairability wouldn't be a factor in my choice of shifters.

Having said all this, I think the SRAM stuff is the cat's meow.
