The Nyack Ride ballistic factor can vary quite a bit depending on who shows up, the route that day (longer and somewhat hilly at the end in summer, flat, shorter in winter) and how angry the peloton is. On a tough day it's reminiscent of a fast 35+ road race. On a real fast day it's like a friggin Vuleta stage. To me anyway. When your speedo reads '32.5 mph' on relatively flat terrain and you're getting gapped, it's fast. That actually did happen to me on that ride 2 years ago.

The fastest guy I've ever seen on that ride is Roger Aspholm. Look him up on USA Cycling. The only reason Roger never turned pro is the pay sucks. If Dr. W. ever shows up I may just take the Advil and go home.
