First project - Trek 660

Bought the frame used in '85 when it was about a year old. Built it up with a Suntour Superbe drivetrain and brakes, Specialized sealed hubs and my first Brooks saddle. Laced my first set of wheels for it and rode my second century on it. As the years added up the paint started blistering badly on the top tube around the rear brake cable guides. The bike was demoted to a basement trainer when I bought the 2200 in '99. The right rear dropout cracked in '06 and the frame was officially deactivated that summer. The guys at Yellow Jersey in Madison WI replaced the rear dropout, filed off the brake cable guides and brazed new cable stops on the side of the top tube. Had the frame repainted and just finished building it up with Superbe Pro parts from ebay. The rims are Mavic CXP-33s. Not exactly period but they've held up really well on the 2200. Plus some of the shallower aero rims were hitting the market in the later '80's (± a few years)(?, maybe). Anyway, the bike is ready to roll.
