Well if you take off the lever and you think there is enough of the boss to put the matching campy one - let me know. If you were in Seattle I'd send you to my local LBS who is a retro guy and ex frame builder and I am sure he could fix you up easily. Hang is there for a bike collector/fixer upper this is probably just a minor issue.
The full boss is there.. so now it is just a matter of finding the right shifter/shifters and a 1st gen C record rear derailleur.
One more question... the current rear cog is a seven speed, will a 1st generation C Record derailleur work.. I thought it was six speed?
