Wire bead tires really do hold on better. Some people, whose opinion I generally trust, will disagree but my experience has been that kevlar beads must stretch just a smidge more than steel wire. I have had good luck with the so-called bulged rims up to about 90 or even 100psi with wire beads. Maybe don't give up on them just yet.
