Most of the blinkie straps on the seatbags I've seen always dangle the blinkie pointing down towards the ground this making the effective hot spots not pointed at the drivers so they don't detect a bike till they're close to you. At 80kph the car can come up every close from a distance away without seeing you till nearly two bus lengths away.
