i think my first find was a set of keys. some were bent from being run over, but they had several grocery discount cards on 'em so i took them to the nearest store so they could determine the owner. four months after buying our house, i found a $50 bill and a somewhat chewed through checkbook under my shrubbery. the name and address was still legible (a couple streets over) so i called the police, they looked it up and it turns out the owner's car had been broken into several months earlier. i guess the robber dumped the checkbook in my yard, not realizing there was a $50 bill in it.
on rides i've also found a few pocket knives, a sears brand wrench, bungees and a few bucks in change. i'll stop for just about anything.
