aye, people make far too much of minute differences in chain line. 2-3mm over ~40cm of chainstay length is absolutely not going to have any perceptible effect. i begin to find concern with deviations around 5mm and above, because you start to unevenly wear on the cog/chainring and enter territory where chain jumping is a possibility.
