To answer your question, Sunday evening. Preferably not the night of a big sporting event, not so late that snipers on the right coast are in bed.
Ten day auctions beginning on a Thursday evening have been shown to be the most lucrative, you have two weekends of viewing.
A couple of things that you didn't actually ask, but implied...part it out to make the most $$$. Karma-wise this isn't always best, but it seems $$$ was what you were after, and that is the point of eBay.
NOS Fiamme Reds are probably worth more unlaced, as a collector probably has better hubs to lace them to. You probably cut the value by lacing them, so disregard karma point made above.
You didn't get screwed, you sold a product for what someone was willing to pay for it, you prolly made $$ on shipping.
One last point... there is, at least, one lucky bum out there ;-)
